Testdisk – http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download – is awesome. Helped me recover data from a clients hard drive that, after a week of fruitless effort, I thought was gone for good. Its free and I looked like a total hero!

If you decide to try this solution and it looks a little daunting, email me (in my profile) and I will gladly help you out.

If this is a life and death situation, maybe you should fork over some money and get your own data recovery program. It also depends on how you lost the data (i.e. fire, shock). And giving out licenses are illegal bud

You can also try to perform data recovery with Easy Drive Data Recovery software:

    http://www.munsoft.com/EasyDriveDataRecovery/

It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.

Wow that sounds pretty bad. I know of one affordable data recovery tool. You can get it at http://www.fastfilerecovery.com and it has a free analysis you can use to check if your data is recoverable. I think it’s worth a try anyway.

I hope it helps you. Good luck with your data recovery.
